Vanderbilt Hematology, part of Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, treats patients with cancerous and noncancerous blood disorders. Our team of doctors, nurses and staff is committed to providing quality care for you and your family while you are going through a blood disorder treatment, such as a blood stem cell or bone marrow transplant (BMT). We are a comprehensive center that treats your whole body, inside and out.
We are part of Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center, the highest ranking by the world’s leading authority on cancer. Our Center of Excellence for Sickle Cell Disease brings together primary care providers and specialists from local institutions to treat individuals with sickle cell disease under one roof.
Blood disorders are often related to other health problems involving major organs, such as the heart and liver. That's why our team works with a variety of specialists, including your primary care provider.
Our hematologists have specialized training in diagnosing and treating blood cancers and noncancerous blood disorders. Our care teams include nurse practitioners, clinical and research nurses, genetic counselors, pharmacists and other specialists to provide a more accurate diagnosis and the most effective treatment options for you.
Many of our providers treat children and adults with blood disorders. We work with your other doctors to help you transition from pediatric care to adult care and to create a care plan that meets your unique health goals and needs.
We offer ongoing services to ensure that you find the support you need to feel better, physically and emotionally. We also can assist you with lodging and locating community resources.
Our specialized transplant, program and intake coordinators guide you through your care plan. They can help you schedule appointments, gather medical records, address concerns and coordinate your care among all the specialists involved in your treatment.
We offer a full range of tests, treatments and services, including:
