Holter Monitoring

The holter mointor is a battery-operated, portable electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG). This small device has wires with plastic patches, electrodes, are attached to the chest and abdomen. The heart’s activity is measured, recorded, and printed for more than 24 hours. This allows the doctor to evaluate a patient’s heartbeat over time while she or he go about his or her’s daily activities to monitor for arrhythmias (abnormal heart beat).
