Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology

The Vanderbilt Multiple Sclerosis Center is one of the largest in the U.S., treating around 5,000 patients each year. Our doctors have spent years working with patients who have multiple sclerosis and similar central nervous system disorders. They are also actively involved in researching new and better treatment options. 

Women diagnosed with MS have unique needs before, during and after pregnancy. Our team includes specially trained experts that serve as an educational resource to help navigate your pregnancy journey, understand how to best manage your symptoms and manage medications during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Our doctors work closely with experts in other medical disciplines to create a care plan that meets your individual needs. We also work with your primary care doctor to review your records and coordinate any advanced care you may need.

While there are common symptoms MS patients share, the disease shows up differently in each patient. We tailor your treatment plan to meet your unique needs and health goals. We help you navigate your treatment options to ensure you receive the best possible care. Our specialty pharmacy service includes consultation and help in navigating the insurance process.

Our clinic has been recognized by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as a Center for Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Care. This designation is a reflection of our extensive approach to care and research, and that means that you’ll have access to and receive the full range of treatments and services you need. Additionally, we offer the latest treatments, and our specialists are constantly working to get new medications approved. 

We’re involved in research sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society that’s looking at MS differently. The goal is to see more about the condition so that we can do more for our patients. We have multiple locations for routine and follow-up care as well as telehealth appointments. This flexibility means you have access to a Vanderbilt specialist close to home.

If your treatment plan includes infusion care (medicine delivered by IV), you’ll have flexible options. Vanderbilt Health has multiple infusion centers, many with evening hours. You’ll find care at a location and time that works for you.
