The members of our team of doctors and surgeons are nationally recognized as leading experts in their field. With extensive specialized training, they are uniquely prepared to diagnose, treat and manage the full spectrum of eye diseases and disorders.
- Many treatment options
We offer a full range of treatments for retinal diseases, from basic procedures to the most-advanced surgeries and treatments for the retina and surrounding tissue. That means we can offer a personalized treatment plan that meets your specific needs.
- Advanced technology
We use the most advanced technology available to provide the best possible care, from diagnosis to surgery. We can measure blood flow to the eye using optical coherence tomography angiography, which is extremely accurate and less invasive than other methods. Our intra-arterial treatments reduce the need for radiation and chemotherapy. And we are one of the first centers in Tennessee to offer the Iluvien implant to patients with diabetic retinopathy.
- A team centered on your needs
Vanderbilt Health brings together specialized providers, advanced technology and research in one connected system. If your care is part of a more complex health concern, we’ll work with experts in all areas related to your care to tailor a treatment plan just for you
- High volume of complex cases
We log more than 15,000 patient visits and perform more than 1,500 vitreoretinal surgeries per year. You can be confident we have the experience necessary to provide the best care for you.
- Access to new options
Our researchers are leaders in exploring ways to improve care. You may have the option to take part in studies called clinical trials, which test promising new approaches under close monitoring.
