Partial Hospitalization Program

Partial Hospitalization

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) helps patients renew and rebuild their mental health. We use both individual and group sessions to help our patients reach a healthier lifestyle. This program is led by a licensed clinical social worker and a registered nurse.

This program is designed for people who have:

  • symptoms that are not responding to current outpatient therapy and/or medicine
  • a recent or past inpatient psychiatric hospitalization with new symptoms
  • trouble dealing with past crisis situations, but do not meet the criteria for inpatient psychiatric treatment

Our Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program provides therapy and medication evaluation services from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. weekdays in a warm, therapeutic rooms, and children do not have to stay overnight.

Contact Vanderbilt Admissions at (615) 327-7000, fax: (615) 327-7007

All referrals involving a psychiatric emergency will be assessed for admission to the partial hospitlization program (PHP). We accept most commercial insurance, TennCare and Medicare (Part B). We will help with insurance preauthorization. Assessment, preauthorization and admission are completed within 24-72 hours of referral.

Hours: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Friday
Patients must arrive at 8 a.m. on the day of admission.
