Skilled Nursing Facilities

A skilled nursing facility is licensed by the state to provide nursing services to those patients who are well enough to leave the hospital, but are not yet well enough to do three hours of therapy each day. This typically serves as an intermediary stop between the hospital and a rehabilitation facility. Once a patient gains enough strength to continue therapy more aggressively, other arrangements will be made to continue their care.
