The Addictions Program at the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital is a 14-bed unit located on the second floor of the VPH building. The program generally serves adults dually diagnosed with a substance abuse and psychiatric diagnosis.
Scope and Complexity
The Addictions Program provides treatment for adults 18 years or older whose major identified problems requiring treatment are related to alcohol/drug abuse/dependency, accompanied by co-existing psychiatric problems, which will also be treated in the program. Depending on the immediate clinical picture at the time of admission, the primary diagnosis could be the substance abuse or the psychiatric diagnosis.
