Sarcoma Care

The Vanderbilt Sarcoma Center is part of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. We diagnose and treat adults and children with bone and soft tissue tumors.

Sarcomas are primary malignancies of bone and soft tissue. These are rare tumors, accounting for less than 2 percent of all cancers. Vanderbilt treats these tumors with innovative limb salvage techniques, chemotherapy, radiation and physical therapy. We care for more than 300 new sarcoma patients each year.

Research has shown that the critical difference in treating sarcomas is a multidisciplinary approach: bringing a team of specialists together to combine their expertise for each patient's care.

Orthopedic Trauma

Vanderbilt Medical Center is the only Level One Trauma Center in Middle Tennessee, providing total care for all aspects of an injury. Our highly skilled team treats:

  • Broken limbs
  • Pelvis fractures
  • Multiple injuries
  • Complications from trauma such as unhealed fractures, healed fracture deformities and bone infections
  • Arthritis after trauma
  • Dislocations
