There is a larger selection of lens materials and lens styles now than ever before. Our opticians will gladly talk with you about your lifestyle, habits and visual needs. Occasionally more than one pair of glasses is necessary (spare pair, sunglasses, sport glasses, occupation specific glasses, computer glasses, etc.).
The most frequent lens material choices are polycarbonate, Trivex or high-index lenses. A hi-index lens is any lens thinner and lighter than plastic. These are often the more popular choice as they produce lighter weight, more attractive glasses at a price not much more than basic plastic.
Many people are interested in changeable tint lenses such as Transitions. These lenses are activated by ultra-violet radiation and are clear inside and become very dark outdoors. Ask one of our helpful opticians regarding specifics on this exciting lens.
Polarized lenses are the best choice for sunglasses. These lenses have a special filter which blocks glare. Come by to see our in-shop demonstrator and see just how well these lenses work.
We use the most technologically advanced progressive lenses available. We also use a progressive lens specially suited for today's smaller frame styles. Progressive lenses provide clear vision at every viewing distance without the annoying line of a bifocal. Call, email or come by for more specific information.
