Brooke outlined different options if I were interested in changing medication pros, cons and probable outcomes. I was able to make an informed decision.

One of the very first questions she asked me was if I was anxious. I said no. She didn't ask me anything about my family medical history at all. She told me that she didn't know what was going on with me, but wanted me try a medicine to see if it helped at all. I told her that I didn't like the idea of taking a medicine if I didn't know that I actually needed it and that would kind of freak me out because I have a history of allergies to certain medicines. My thought process was why would I take a medicine if the Doctor doesn't actually know what's going on? She said, ohhh anxiety about medicine. You know you should look into getting your anxiety under control. We can help support you through that. I wasn't anxious about it, I just don't think it's prudent to take a new medicine unless there is an actual reason for it. The entire time she was talking to me like I'm a 3 year old or a psych patient in crisis. She told me she would set up another appointment with one of her MD colleagues who she said would have more breadth of knowledge. But, when I got to the front window to check out, she had set up a follow up with her for two months from now. I explained to the front desk clerk that she had wanted me to see one of her MD colleagues, but the soonest any of them had was a month from now. So now, I took off time from work for this appointment and I'll have to pay a copay, but I had someone who just wanted to tell me I'm anxious instead of figuring out what's going on. Now I have to endure another month of feeling terrible and still have no answers. It was an absolutely frustrating experience.
