Neuromuscular Disorders

Vanderbilt's MDA Neuromuscular Clinic is the only one in the Mid-South with a complete range of services that includes specially trained doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, nutritionists and other experts. Our patients can enroll in national research studies and drug trials as they become available. Since 1970, the MDA has provided financial support to the clinic.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association has designated us as an MDA/ALS Clinic. We offer complete diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for people with neuromuscular disorders covered by the MDA, including:

Peter Donofrio, M.D. is the Director of the Division of Neuromuscular Disorders and the Director of the MDA Clinic and the MDA/ALS Clinic. He will explain what ALS is and what causes it.
