Robotic-assisted surgery for liver and pancreas tumors

Robotic-assisted Surgery for Liver and Pancreas Tumors

Overview

Minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgeries are now used to treat hepatobiliary cancers. Liver and pancreas tumor resection surgeries can be complex. Robotics provide surgeons with better visuals of the surgical site, more precise motion and greater dexterity. Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center is one of only a few hospitals with multiple surgical oncologists using robotics for liver and pancreatic cancers.
