Vanderbilt founded the STEMI Network to improve care for patients who have a type of heart attack called ST-segments Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI). Through this network, Vanderbilt coordinates the efforts of emergency medical services, emergency departments and cardiology teams across rural Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky. This ensures that these patients get the timely care they need to reduce heart damage.
Our Comprehensive Stroke Center earns the highest level of distinction for stroke care. And our emergency department is also an Accredited Chest Pain Center. We use advanced methods to evaluate and treat heart attacks and other heart problems.
The Vanderbilt Burn Center is a Level 1 unit, offering the highest level of burn care for adults and pediatric patients possible. Our team is solely dedicated to meeting the complex physical, medical and emotional needs of burn treatment and recovery.
Our emergency department team collaborates with each other, as well as with experts in other medical disciplines, to ensure a smooth path forward for patients who need to be admitted to the hospital for further care.
