I am not questioning Dr. Muldoon's expertise or fit with other patients. Everyone is different. However, I was disappointed that it seemed as though Dr. Muldoon had not even looked at my chart before we met. Indeed, I essentially repeated to her what I had told two other medical professionals only moments before meeting with Dr. Muldoon (i.e., I spoke to two residents and/or interns and then they went and got Dr. Muldoon). I am confused as to why the information I provided to these individuals was not relayed (or received) to/by Dr. Muldoon, particularly given the sensitive nature of the subject matter. Relatedly, it was demoralizing to have Dr. Muldoon mention topical treatments first, when I had already made clear that I had tried the same and had not had success. One of the most disheartening aspects of the condition I am dealing with is trying different things and never achieving a resolution. By failing to acknowledge that I had already attempted the treatments she was recommending (which would have been evident from my chart), Dr. Muldoon unfortunately reinforced my feeling of hopelessness with respect to my condition and made it seem as though she was simply checking the box when it came to my care. Finally, regarding the risks / benefits of other proposed treatment options, I would have appreciated Dr. Muldoon providing her own recommendation, rather than solely asking me what I thought the best option was. Regardless of Dr. Muldoon's intent, this made me feel as though she was not adequately invested in my care and/or personally interested in seeing me through to a resolution. I understand doctors are stretched thin. I hold medical professionals in the highest regard. However, this was a negative experience and ultimately caused me to cancel my scheduled surgery and seek a second opinion. I have never been under anesthesia and/or had surgery before, and based on my experience at the clinic, I did not have confidence that the team I dealt with was adequately invested in my care and wellbeing.

I cannot express adequately how comfortable I felt with Dr. Muldoon. She took a great deal of time explaining the specifics of my condition and possibilities and expectations between surgical options. I feel well prepared for upcoming procedures.

Dr. Muldoon took her time. She was caring about my concerns and answered all of my questions like she had all the time in the world. And truly was concerned about my concerns.
