The Dr.that initially came in was extremely concerned and showed compassion and answered all questions I had. Then came Dr. Fitch... I thought he was rude to the Dr. That was shadowing him. She, on the other hand, was a much better communicator and displayed the professionalism I have come to expect and have always received at each visit. Hang on to her!! Send him to that hospital in Murfreesboro. He doesn't belong at Vanderbilt. Thank goodness I was referred to Dr. Bowman!

I know Dr. Fitch is an excellent doctor. I have seen him before for a different issue, and several of my friends have also seen him. However, I was not happy with my experience the other day. He asked my permission to use a dictation program, which I willingly gave, especially since other doctors have also requested my permission for similar programs. I did not, however, expect him to spend so much time dictating to his phone rather than talking to me. And I couldn't always tell when he had stopped talking to his phone and was addressing himself to me. He also spoke extremely quickly and left an impression that he was in a rush -- which he probably was, since he was running very far behind. I didn't see him until 75 minutes after my scheduled appointment (and about 30 minutes after the nurse left who had taken my blood pressure). I had been asked to show up at 10:25 for a 10:40 visit, and I did not leave until 12:20pm.

Dr. Fitch is beyond wonderful. He listens, compares past visits, more than pleasant, and is Right On for diagnosis. He is an exceptional doctor. His explanations about what any issues are make so much sense. His suggestions on treatment make me feel confident on choosing procedures. We are blessed he is with Vanderbilt. He has a sense if humor that I love, and puts me at ease immediately. So very thorough in every aspect.
