About Emily C. Barker
Dr. Barker is an internist and assistant professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt Health. She joined Vanderbilt Executive Wellness and Concierge Medicine in 2019. Dr. Barker attended undergraduate school at UC Santa Barbara, received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2002, and completed her internship and residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2005. She was on faculty for two years at University of California, San Diego, and she was the senior associate residency program director for internal medicine residents at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. She attained board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2006. In 2011, Dr. Barker established River Oaks Doctors Group, one of the first concierge medicine programs in Houston.
