Dayani Membership

The Vanderbilt Dayani Center is a medical fitness facility on the campus of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Our specialists teach people recovering from or managing medical conditions how to exercise safely on their own.

Fitness memberships are available without a doctor's referral for those with certain medical conditions or risk factors.

How to Join

  • Determine if you meet our membership criteria.
  • Make an appointment for new member orientation by calling our front desk at (615) 322-4751. At orientation, we may review your health history, conduct a fitness assessment and provide an equipment orientation. You'll review our membership agreement, exercise floor policy and pool policy

Criteria for Dayani membership

  • Age 55 or older
  • Cancer
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Chronic pain conditions
  • ​Current smoker, or someone who has quit in the past six months
  • ​Dyslipidemia (LDL at or greater than 130; HDL at or less than 40; or triglycerides at or greater than 150; or currently prescribed lipid-lowering medications)
  • Family history of CAD (myocardial infarction, coronary revascularization or sudden death in a first-degree relative before the age of 55 (male) and 65 (female)
  • Fibromyalgia
  • ​Hypertension (stage 1 hypertension or greater: systolic blood pressure at or above 135; or diastolic blood pressure at or above 85; or currently prescribed hypertension medications)
  • Metabolic disease
  • Multi-joint osteoarthritis
  • Neurological conditions
  • Obesity (BMI of 30 or higher)
  • Organ transplant
  • People who need a warm water therapy pool to exercise safely and comfortably
  • Polymyalgia
  • Pulmonary disease
  • Rheumatoid arthritis

Personal Training 

Our nationally certified trainers make workouts fun and effective. Programs may include land-based and aquatic exercises. Sessions are available by appointment only. Each 1-hour session is $77.

Massage Therapy

Dayani offers several types of therapeutic massage: lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, craniosacral and Swedish relaxation massage.

There is an additional fee for massage.

Swimming Pool

The Dayani Center has a 25-meter, five-lane warm-water pool that allows gentle exercise with reduced pain. The pool has a chair lift for those who have difficulty getting in and out of the water. 

Parking

Members will receive one free parking pass for the Dayani Center parking lot.

Rates

Dayani offers numerous membership types for people who are able to exercise independently (without a trainer or physical therapist). Membership includes full access to equipment, classes, the pool and other retail services.

Memberships are billed monthly and automatically renew every 12 months.

  • Individual membership: $69.17/month
  • Family*: $108.42/month
  • Senior (65+): $60.92/month
  • Senior (65+) and family: $92.92/month
  • 4-class pass: $41 (Good for 30 days from date of purchase)

Individual members must meet medical criteria.

*Family memberships are limited to three people per household. At least one family member must meet medical criteria. Members must be 18 years or older.

Class Passes

Those who meet our medical criteria may purchase class passes instead of a membership. The cost is $41, good for four classes within a 30-day period.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel membership, please provide written notice 30 days in advance by submitting our cancellation form in person or by mail, fax or email. You will be billed for the 30-day notice period.
