The Vanderbilt Dayani Center is a medical fitness facility on the campus of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Our specialists teach people recovering from or managing medical conditions how to exercise safely on their own.
Fitness memberships are available without a doctor's referral for those with certain medical conditions or risk factors.
Our class instructors help you choose and modify exercises to meet your needs and abilities. We offer a variety of classes:
Land-based. View current class schedule (PDF)
Aquatic (in water). View our current class schedule (PDF)
All classes are beginner-friendly and easy to follow. These low-impact classes are gentle on the joints. All fitness levels welcome.
Our nationally certified trainers make workouts fun and effective. Programs may include land-based and aquatic exercises. Sessions are available by appointment only. Each 1-hour session is $77.
Dayani offers several types of therapeutic massage: lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, craniosacral and Swedish relaxation massage.
There is an additional fee for massage.
The Dayani Center has a 25-meter, five-lane warm-water pool that allows gentle exercise with reduced pain. The pool has a chair lift for those who have difficulty getting in and out of the water.
Members will receive one free parking pass for the Dayani Center parking lot.
Vanderbilt faculty and staff should check VUMC Permit Parking information for details on where to park.
Dayani offers numerous membership types for people who are able to exercise independently (without a trainer or physical therapist). Membership includes full access to equipment, classes, the pool and other retail services.
Memberships are billed monthly and automatically renew every 12 months.
Individual members must meet medical criteria.
*Family memberships are limited to three people per household. At least one family member must meet medical criteria. Members must be 18 years or older.
Those who meet our medical criteria may purchase class passes instead of a membership. The cost is $41, good for four classes within a 30-day period.
To cancel membership, please provide written notice 30 days in advance by submitting our cancellation form in person or by mail, fax or email. You will be billed for the 30-day notice period.
