Rhinology (Nose and Sinus): Why Choose Vanderbilt

  • Recognized care. U.S. News & World Report ranks Vanderbilt Otolaryngology among the top programs in the nation for ear, nose and throat care. We are the #1 adult hospital in Tennessee and metropolitan Nashville.
  • Top experts. Our rhinologists have extensive training and experience in the management of sinus disease. Our doctors understand the full range of issues that can affect your sinuses, including the most complex conditions. As leading experts in their specialty, you can trust you’re in the best of hands.
  • Collaborative care. Some complex conditions require additional expertise and skill. We work closely with allergy and immunology specialists in the Asthma, Sinus and Allergy Program and otolaryngologists in the Smell and Taste Center. We also collaborate with doctors who specialize in pituitary disorders, sleep surgery and skull base tumors, including neurologists, neurosurgeons and ophthalmologists. These collaborations allow us to offer you personalized care to meet your unique needs.
  • Innovative research and treatment options. When you come to Vanderbilt, you gain access to therapies and treatments that incorporate the latest evidence-based research and technologies. We may enroll you in a clinical trial to give you access to new approaches that are under investigation and not yet widely available.
  • Minimally invasive surgery. We can treat many nose and sinus problems medically. However, if your condition requires surgery, we often use minimally invasive techniques. Our minimally invasive procedures confer a number of benefits, including shorter recovery times and fewer complications. In some cases, our surgeons may perform your surgery in our office. For many of the conditions that we treat with surgery, you can go home the same day.
  • Access to specialists. At Vanderbilt, you have access to some of the top doctors in the country. As a patient, we can refer you for diagnostic tests, including allergy and asthma testing, and more advanced care when needed.
