The doctor was pleasant. But he came in with mind already made up for diagnosis, proof was eye drop printout w/approved pictured brands that he walked In with. He hadn't even looked at me first. My Issues have been dizziness, blurry vision with sporadic double vision which has been going on from 2024 until now. And I've had a brain MRI last week with results showing signs of why I would be having these symptoms. He downplayed my concerns and wrote half truths. I know I'm near sighted. My problems are blurred vision on phone 65 tissue 6-7 feet away for example. I came in appointment being/thinking positive, but was warned 6 months ago that VUMC has some Drs that don't trust, believe, consider black people's concerns or truths. That's very scary when Drs don't listen, brushing things off as CPAP dry eye and/or nearsightedness.

The doctor suggested that I could continue my yearly followups with an optometrist. This really suprised me. As a diabetic, I remain concerned about my eyes and consider my yearly diabetic exam one of the most important medical visits of the year. I will continue to come back to Vanderbilt on a yearly basis.
