X-rays did not show signs of anything serious, per provider. I had been having Pain for 6 to 8 weeks before I made the appointment, so I was hoping to rule out something serious (which I received). I Told Caitlin I would like to try PT at Vanderbilt, as she recommended. I left expecting to receive information or a call to schedule it. I waited a week and called the PT Department and was told my provider needed to request it. I left a message with that request and didn't hear anything back. I called again today and was told it had not been requested. I have now called the PT department again to request approval from my provider

PA was nice and accommodating to us even though we were kind of thrown at her with zero notice. We appreciated her help.

Caitlyn, the PA-C, seemed more concerned with moving on to a pain management provider than investigating what could be causing the pain. I left the appointment feeling like I had no good plan to go forward, just a referral to a pain management doctor. No imaging was ordered or performed. Overall, I would have hoped that a PA would demonstrate better investigative skills and been aware of, or asked for any past history of femoral pain and lower lumbar pain. I know no more of my condition than before I arrived. A waste of a four hour round trip drive and $50 co-pay.

They did their best to say they wouldn't be providing me with treatment because other treatments and providers would be more suitable-that part is totally understandable and fine by me. It's their manner that was the problem. I'm experiencing a lot of pain, stress, and uncertainty due to health issues, but they were quick to try and diminish my symptoms and dismiss me. That doesn't make you feel good when you're trying to seek help.

She only threw out pain management and PT as options only. No diagnostic testing was discussed.

She was phenomenal. She listened for details about my recovery and asked me questions. She was kind, responsive, and helpful.

She was not wearing a mask, even though she had a running nose and was wiping it. The only physical exam was me bending over and her touching my hips and my feet.
