Dr carlswell is very attentive to my needs

Dr. Carswell is the best physician I had in years. She not only shows concern, she is positive and motivational. She is simply fantastic!

While Dr. Carswell was more pleasant than the past times I have seen her, she failed to listen to me. I mentioned I had skin irritation in my belly button. She never looked at it. I mentioned I might have tinnitus and she said we all have it and then told me about hers but never addresses mine. I told her I might have sleep apnea but was struggling to get results as I couldn't sleep through at home sleep tests and she didn't offer help, I asked how much sodium I need and she said it's part of my diet, I asked about magnesium and how much I need and which kinds because of my age, perimenopause & I know there about 10 different types & she said it is in my diet. I told her I have IBS which keeps me from eating many things. I mentioned fruits and vegetables I can't eat and she stopped me before I could mention other foods I can't eat. She treats me as though I'm like everyone else when I have documented IBS since Feb 2004 which keeps me from eating a healthy diet. She never discussed my BMI. According to my chart I have obesity. I figured at my age and being in perimenopause she would want to talk about it. When I read my after summary notes & such so much of it was incorrect. She didn't even tell me what is okay to eat before lab work other than a plain bagel with jelly. I had eaten a lean skinless boneless chicken breast with my breakfast instead of scrambled eggs. She also didn't listen when I tried to explain my dad's heart issues & I was unsure if I would have the same and my dad informed me that he did not get his heart issues from his own dad but instead due to age and my dad sees 2 cardiologists. The visit went by so quickly & I never felt heard & that my issues were not addressed. It was nice that she was in a pleasant mood & she told me she was proud of me for making the long drive in the pouring rain. I also appreciated that the wait time was not long. In my chart she mentions parts of my body she checked like my tummy & neck when all I remember was a flashlight in my eyes and breathing in & out but not being touched on my tummy & neck & my throat was never looked at. Very rushed appointment

Dr Carswell is excellent in every way.

Dr Carswell started out as my mom's doctor and after seeing the excellent care she gave her she became my doctor. She is an absolute treasure!

Amount of compassion and care provided by Dr Carswell is best in class. She's an amazing physician and is an asset to the Vanderbilt community.

Dr. Carswell is wonderful. She is conscientious, professional, friendly, and she listens. A true example of what a caring doctor is.
