Dr Boyapati was awesome! The procedure went by so fast but he was diligent in giving me all of my options. He was so nice and really helped me relax as I was really nervous, his kind and calm demeanor really helped me! I have already recommended him to many people and hope to see him again if at all possible! Vanderbilt knows how to pick passionate and caring staff all around!!

I was being told what I had to do. I was told I could not deny birth control and that I had to be on it. I felt extremely cornered and pressured to have to choose the type of birth control and that I am not allowed to say no. The doctor even raised his voice at me when I first said no to birth control and then leveled his tone with me again. My tests results have come back showing there is something wrong relating to possible return of cancer but I have received no further feedback. I have been left feeling as if the issues are being ignored and pressured to be on contraceptive. I have cried and have high anxiety over my next appointment. I do not feel as if I can speak up or request a different doctor with punishment due to biased based treatment.

Very nice. He seemed rushed but he made sure all my questions were answered before leaving the room.

The appointment did feel a bit rushed, but not in a necessarily negative way.

There was an excessively large cut made to remove my birth control. The doctor did not even test to see if I was numb first, he just cut.

He needs to be more trauma informed. I informed him about my trauma, my vestigitus pain, my dysphoria, and it didn't feel like he understood what to do about that. He wasn't slow enough inserting the speculum, did not check in with me when I gasped in pain, continued to ask me questions when I was crying and clearly upset, to which the nurse (Amy) had to step in and ask him to give me a minute. He was kind but clearly not trauma informed and I feel that should be a requirement when you're working with the female body. Also, in my after visit summary, I was called she, Ms., and my deadname multiple times when I both told him that I am trans and it is listed multiple times in my chart that I am. Overall it was a traumatizing experience.
