Vanderbilt Gestational Diabetes

Vanderbilt’s Gestational Diabetes program provides personalized care for women who develop diabetes during pregnancy. Gestational diabetes is usually diagnosed between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy, and it typically goes away after the baby is born. Gestational diabetes may increase a woman’s and her baby’s risk of type 2 diabetes and prediabetes. Our team follows patients after pregnancy to assess, prevent and treat diabetes later in life.
