Adult Post-COVID Clinic

Most people who have COVID get better without lingering problems. However, some have symptoms for weeks or months. This set of symptoms is sometimes called long COVID or post-COVID conditions.

We have a team of doctors and other providers who understand these symptoms, which can be different from person to person. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports these commonly reported long COVID symptoms.

Post-COVID Services

  • Connection to a team member who screens patients and schedules appointments for a full assessment or referral to specialists
  • Complete evaluation by a doctor during a convenient online video appointment (telemedicine)
  • Dedicated staff to manage referrals to Vanderbilt Health specialists
  • A personalized plan for recovery and rehabilitation
  • Connection to support and resources

Patients may also have opportunity to take part in research. This will help us better care for patients with long COVID symptoms.

Who qualifies for post-COVID care through this service?

To be seen through this service, you must be 18 or older and:

  • Have had a confirmed positive test for COVID six to 12 weeks earlier.
  • Have a smartphone or computer access to My Health at Vanderbilt. This is your online tool to manage your care at Vanderbilt. It is used, among other things, to conduct telemedicine appointments. (Clinic staff can help patients set up My Health at Vanderbilt when they schedule appointments).
  • Be well enough to be evaluated in a clinic setting.

If you have a primary care provider at Vanderbilt Health, please check with them first for recommendations.

We'll help refer you to other care settings if:

  • You have critical symptoms such as problems breathing, low oxygen, or acute heart or brain problems or patients. Patients who are too sick to be seen through this clinic may be referred to their nearest emergency department or urgent care center.
  • Your positive test for COVID was less than 6 weeks earlier. Symptoms may get better on their own during this early recovery period. If you need support during this time, we can help you get an appointment with your own primary care provider. We also can help you find the nearest Vanderbilt Health walk-in clinic or get an appointment with a primary care provider.
