Bonding

Bonding can be used to restore teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored, or misarranged. Bonding is an effective alternative to veneers.

We prepare your tooth for bonding by lightly etching its surface and applying a bonding liquid. Once the liquid sets, we apply a plastic resin and sculpt it into the desired shape. This resin must set. Then we trim, smooth and polish the resin. The result looks very natural.

The bonding procedure can often be completed in a single office visit. However, since the plastic resin used is not as strong as your natural tooth enamel, it is more likely to stain, chip, or break than natural teeth. Bonding typically lasts three to five years before repair is needed.
