~ Rev. Barry Culbertson, M.Div., Chaplain, Vanderbilt Medical Center, is an Elder in the United Methodist Church.  Prior to coming to chaplaincy at VUMC he served congregations in Virginia and Tennessee. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt Divinity School. barry.culbertson@vanderbilt.edu

 

 

 

 

 

~ Marcy Thomas, M.Div., Chaplain, Vanderbilt Medical Center, received an undergraduate degree from Mercer University and the Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School. ~ Rev. Cordell Simpson, M.Div., D.Div., BCC, Evening Chaplain, Vanderbilt Medical Center, is the pastor of Eighth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, TN.  He has also pastored in  Alabama and Georgia.  Before coming to Vanderbilt Medical Center he was staff Chaplain in the Heart, Lung and Vascular Institue at the Univesity of Tennessee.  He is a graduate of the Birmingham Theological Seminary and the International Bible College and Seminary.  cordell.e.simpson@vanderbilt.edu

~ Lisa Meyers, Administrative Assistant, Vanderbilt Medical Center, was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and attended Central Missouri State University where she studied Art and Business.  She has been with the Department of Pastoral Care since 1989 and provices administrative support to the staff.  lisa.meyers@vanderbilt.edu

 

 

 

 

 

~ Tom Burgess, Pianist, Vanderbilt Medical Center and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, is a songwriter/musician originally from Lynchburg, Tennessee.  He uses his gift of music as a ministry for people in chapel services by leading them in a time of (quiet) comfort and remembrances of old and new church songs.  Tom played for many years with a southern gospel group and at many churches throughout the south and northeast.
