Our Mission

 

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Office of Patient Affairs exists to serve as the patient's intermediary and to facilitate the flow of information between visitors and the medical center community and to create a caring environment.

The Office of Patient Affairs consists of Patient Advocacy.


Patient Advocacy


Patient Advocates in the Office of Patient Affairs are available to assist you with any questions, needs, or concerns you may have about your visit to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Your advocate can assist you in the following ways:

  • Address questions or concerns you may have about your care.
  • Serve as a formal grievance mechanism for you and your family.
  • Receive compliments for outstanding physician and staff members.
  • Provide information about advance directives.
  • Assist you in exercising your health care rights.
  • Clarify medical center policies.
  • Bridge the gap where you feel your expectations have not been met.


It is our hope that through these efforts you and your family will have a positive experience at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
