Breast ultrasound

Overview

An ultrasound bounces high-energy sound waves off internal tissues or organs and generates echoes. The echo patterns appear on the screen of an ultrasound machine, forming a picture of body tissues called a sonogram in a process called ultrasonography. The ultrasound can show tumors and help guide our doctors performing biopsies or treating tumors.
