The Vanderbilt Breast Center at One Hundred Oaks is committed to helping our patients maintain breast health at every age. Self awareness is very important to maintain breast health. Women should know how their breasts feel and look on a normal basis, and if there are any changes, contact your health care provider. For women in their 20s, breast self-exam is an option. Women in their 20s and 30s are encouraged to receive a clinical breast exam about every three years. Yearly clinical breast exams and mammograms are recommended for women 40 years and older for as long as a woman is in good health.
What to Bring for a Routine Screening:
The Vanderbilt Breast Center is a comprehensive clinic that cares for all of your breast health needs. We offer a convenient, comfortable setting and hours that work with your schedule, such as late afternoon as well as Saturday appointments.
All diagnostic imaging modalities are in one location, and all exams are interpreted by radiologists specializing in breast and women's imaging. We also offer clinical service referrals that are on location. Many of your services can be scheduled on the same day, such as your mammogram and bone density screening.
We offer extremely advanced imaging technology for our patients. Tomosynthesis mammography, for example, is an imaging technique that creates a three-dimensional image of breast tissue to help screen patients for breast cancer.
