Internship Opportunities
The Dayani Center for Health & Wellness provides undergraduate, graduate, and medical students enrolled in Exercise Science/Health Promotion/Medical School programs with an opportunity to receive the most up-to-date training and guidance from within many program areas. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Rehabilitation
- Smoking Cessation
- Behavioral Health Corporation Wellness
- Exercise Science Health Administration
- Geriatric Therapy and Wellness Physical Therapy
- Weight Management
- Nutrition
The student will complete an internship contract with the Dayani Center designed to educate the student in various health services, as well as allow him to specialize in his area of interest. The program encourages students to apply classroom work with hands-on experience in a professional environment. The Dayani Center is committed to provide all students with the guidance and instruction necessary to work with clients normally seen in a medically based wellness program. Students’ program content may vary depending upon their level of education.
How to Apply
Step 1: Request from Vanderbilt Dayani Center information on internship program or see web page www.DayaniCenter.org
Step 2: Send the Director of the Internship Program a letter of introduction and request for internship AND obtain or complete those items that follow:
- Letter of reference (University/ College advisor)
- Current resume
- Personal objectives of internship (typed)
- Copy of transcripts (un-official)
- Internship application form
- Internship initial skill evaluation form
Request for stipend (MS, Ph.D. only): MS or Ph.D. level must submit for stipend of up to $400 per month

Please note that the Student Internship Program is full for the summer and fall terms of 2009. Applications for spring of 2010 will be accepted starting November 1, 2009.
