ImPACT is a computerized neurocognitive test used in sports concussion assessment and management. In some cases the results of the ImPACT test may be uncertain or unclear to the professional administering the test. In these circumstances, the Vanderbilt Sports Concussion Center (VSCC) can offer assistance.
Gary Solomon, Ph.D., is a co-director of the VSCC, a credentialed ImPACT Consultant, a member of the ImPACT Scientific Advisory Board, and has led workshops training others in the use of ImPACT. He has used ImPACT for more than 10 years with athletes from middle school to professional levels. Solomon has published more than a dozen papers in scientific journals related to ImPACT, including the use of ImPACT in athletes with ADHD or learning disabilities. He currently provides this interpretation service to several professional and collegiate teams in Tennessee.
Solomon can review an ImPACT test and provide an interpretation that may be valuable in the understanding of the test results and in the management of the concussed athlete.
