I usually need extra medication to numb the area before dental care. The dentist remembered from the previous visit and gave me extra to begin with which decreased my anxiety that the procedure might hurt. He made sure I was numb before beginning. Dr. Ames hasn't been at Vanderbilt long and I'm very fortunate to have him take over my care.

I had a strong phobia re: dental offices. Had not been in one in OVER 25 yrs. Dr. Ames (and Amanda) have been phenomenal in helping me. I first saw them for an emergency visit. Now I can go for a dental appt. with Dr. Ames (only) willingly. I TRUST him, plus he is an excellent dentist.

Dr. Ames has a great personality. I find him consistently timid in his evaluations - like he is scared to provide an opinion. My husband and I have both had this experience with him. This visit I felt like he was dismissive of my particular problem and invested limited time in _____ me.
