Dr. Lotshaw is by far my favorite physician at Vanderbilt. He is very caring, listens to you, and takes the time to answer all your questions. I was very blessed to have him deliver both of my kids and both experiences were so positive because of him! My husband was also very pleased with Dr. Lotshaw.

I expected him to be more personable, especially discussing and doing an intimate GYN exam, or at least make me feel comfortable with him; but he didn't and I wasn't. He did come to my side but I felt he should have discussed the meds after I sat up, not while laying down with feet in stirrups. Then he left room without saying good-bye, and so did his assistant. I got off the table myself and dressed and waited. Finally going out into hall to ask if he was bringing me an RX or coming back or what I needed to do. I had to ask when I would get results and ask where was the Rx he said he would give me. If I had not asked then I would not have been told. I felt like I was a bother to these people having to ask all these questions that I should not have had to ask. It made me feel like they thought I was an idiot.

The doctor was pleasant and fine; however, the well visit entailed taking vitals and a 1 minute physical exam; no blood tests, no papsmear, no inquiry about my general health. I do not think the visit was worth my time or money.

Confident in clinical safety, but not confident in other ways based on level of engagement. Felt safe and confident with the exam, but his level of engagement re: my questions re: menopause were very poor. Could find much more on the internet, etc. Made me feel that this practice is only interested in treating child bearing years of womens' health.

again - this was not my normal provider and I am very greatful that they got me in so quickly. however, when the problem turned out to not be what was originally speculated, he did not give me any explanation regarding what it could possibly be or what options I have for remedying the issue. I will be following up with my regular care provider to discuss these issues.

Dr. Lotshaw did not instill any confidence in me. I left feeling more confused and scared about my health. I will never opt to see him again. He spent no time with me and had to ask multiple times about what was going on. He is the worst doctor I have seen in a long time.

This was a 37 week OB follow up and I got no information about how we would be proceeding in the coming weeks for my high risk pregnancy including plans he had for induction @ 39 weeks. I had to send a message through the health portal to get this info.
