Vanderbilt Heart Transplant Program's Surgical Director is Dr. Steven J. Hoff. The Medical Director for the program is Dr. Mark Wigger who brings more than 20 years transplant experience to the team. Dr. Jorge Balaguer serves as Chief of the Cardiac Surgical Unit and Surgical Director of the Heart Transplant Program at the Nashville-VA Heart Transplant Program. Dr. Debra Dodd is the Medical Director for pediatric heart transplantation. 

Vanderbilt's Heart Transplant Program is supported by a broad-based congenital and cardiovascular team at the Vanderbilt Heart Institute, which has treated more than 50,000 patients. All members of the Vanderbilt-VA Heart Transplant Team work together to maintain high standards of care and management of patients toward excellent clinical outcomes.
