Other Services
The Physician Liaison Department assists physicians and other healthcare providers in meeting their referral, consultative, patient care and continuing medical education needs, and to offer access to other Vanderbilt resources. Continuing Medical Education programs are offered for physician groups and hospital staff throughout the region. ONCE Center The ONCE Center helps improve access to the physicians at Vanderbilt. Physicians or patients can make one call to this Center and be efficiently directed and connected to the appropriate physician's office or practice group. The ONCE Center number is (615) 322-3000.
Transfer Center The Transfer Center assists referring physicians and facilities in quickly and efficiently transferring patients to Vanderbilt. It is staffed by an R.N. Transfer Nurse during regular business hours and Life Flight EMTs or Paramedics at night and on weekends. The nurse will obtain information about the patient and put the referring physician in touch with the appropriate VUMC physician. Once approval has been obtained to transfer the patient, the Transfer Nurse will handle the logistics of the transfer. The Transfer Center can be reached at (615) 343-0976 or 1-877-236-4888.
Vanderbilt Lifeflight emergency medical transport Helicopter ambulance service can provide emergency transport to the Medical Center. LifeFlight's helicopters provide service for a 150 mile radius around Nashville and are stationed in Lebanon, Tullahoma, Clarksville and Mt Pleasant. LifeFlight also operates a fixed wing air ambulance for longer distance transports. They are equipped for critical care resuscitations of pediatric and adult patients. Vanderbilt Imaging Vanderbilt Imaging offers the best diagnostics available in the region for adults and children. We provide an array of services at each of our outpatient centers. Each center is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology that is managed by experienced technicians and board-certified radiologists. For most procedures, patients can be seen the same day of the referral.
