Rehabilitation Services at Vanderbilt Orthopaedic use a "team" approach to patient care. The "team" is composed of orthopaedic physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists and athletic trainers who are experts in the field of orthopaedic medicine. Athletic trainers help carry out the plan of care from the first visit to discharge. They work closely with the physical therapist to assist patients in meeting their personal goals and or to transition to personal fitness program. We utilize concepts of evidenced based medicine, and all team members work together to provide excellent patient care.
Whether it is knee, back, shoulder, or ankle pain, the Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute Fitness Center's highly trained staff can customize a program to get you moving again. Comprised of certified and credentialed exercise specialists and personal trainers, our staff works in conjunction with licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists, certified athletic trainers, and Vanderbilt physicians. We work to quickly and efficiently recognize, rehabilitate, and prevent orthopedic injuries. Our goal is for our patients to be able to overcome their injury and gain confidence to begin living a healthier, more active and quality lifestyle through fitness and education.
