Vanderbilt Digestive Disease Center

The Vanderbilt Digestive Disease Center (VDDC) is a state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment center. Our Center is staffed by highly trained internal medicine physicians with specialties in diseases of the digestive system, including the:

  • esophagus
  • stomach
  • liver
  • gallbladder
  • pancreas
  • small intestine
  • large intestine (colon)

The VDDC is part of the Vanderbilt Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. We have three goals:

  • to provide outstanding medical care to persons with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver;
  • to train gastroenterologists; and
  • to perform cutting-edge biomedical research to improve our understanding of digestive disease.

We apply a multidisciplinary approach to managing digestive disease. This means we incorporate the latest diagnostic procedures and treatment options to address each patient's individual needs.
