One telephone call to our Communication Center at (800)288-8111 provides access to the integrated system including four helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, and neonatal and critical care ambulances.

About the Aircraft


Vanderbilt LifeFlight utilizes three American Eurocopter ec145 twin engine helicopters and one American Eurocopter ec135 twin engine helicopter and a Beechcraft King Air 200 fixed-wing aircraft. Additionally LifeFlight has a spare ec135 to minimize service disruptions during required maintenance.

When appropriate for patient needs, the King Air B200 (LifeFlight 10) based at the Nashville International Airport (KBNA) is typically used for flights that will exceed a 100 NM radius from Vanderbilt. When appropriate for middle to long range transport, a Lear 35 jet is utilized.

We normally provide helicopter services within a 130 NM (Nautical Mile) radius of Vanderbilt. To help speed our response to the areas around Nasvhille our helicopters are located at the following bases.

LifeFlight 1 is based at the airport in Lebanon, TN
LifeFlight 2 is based at the airport in Tullahoma, TN
LifeFlight 3 is based in Clarksville, TN,
LifeFlight 4 is based at the airport in Mt. Pleasant, TN

LifeFlight Service Area

Providing an integrated transportation system, LifeFlight uses the right vehicle for the right patient at the right time. LifeFlight utilizes 4 helicopters and a medically equipped airplane, to serve areas within 900 miles of Nashville.
