Theraputic Yoga Series

Class Descriptions

Therapeutic Yoga Basics
The series will begin very slowly focusing on breath and relaxation, then moving into gentle stretching where modifications are made for individual needs.  Chairs, cushions, and yoga props will be used to help students be as comfortable as possible.  This class is appropriate for anyone with limited mobility and or chronic pain or illness.

Yoga for Fibromyalgia and Arthritis Pain
This class was designed with the close gidance of Dr. Roy Elam, Dr. Tobi Fishel, and Dr. Chad Boomershine.  It will be taught with care and attention to the symptoms of myalgias and arthritis and will also focus on each individual's need.  The series will begin slowly focusing on breath and relaxation, then moving into gentle stretching.  Chairs, cushions, and yoga props will be used to help clients be as comfortable as possible.

 Yoga for Migraines
This series of classes will focus on releasing tension in the front and back fo the neck, shoulders, and chest.  Breathing techniques will be practiced to learn how to best utilize the primary breathing muscles while allowing the muscles of the neck, the accessory breathing muscles, to stay relaxed.  Long holds in restorative poses will be help create space to relax and open.

Yoga for Chronic Pain
This class is similar to the basics series where everyone is welcome and the class will be adapted for different needs.  Chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, MS, lupus, back pain, or any pain that you might be experiencing will be addressed in this class.  Gentle dynamic movements that link the breath with the movements create a sense of calm and ease in the body while at the same time gain range of motion, stretching, and strength building.

$54  -  6 class series   *Each series will be 6 weeks long, attendance to the first class is strongly encouraged*
