Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to naturally heal itself and improve its functioning. Originating more than 2000 years ago in China, acupuncture is a component of traditional medicine there. During an acupuncture treatment, hair-thin sterile needles are inserted into specific points of the body and either manipulated by hand or with electrical stimulation.

While acupuncture is often associated with reducing pain, it has been shown to be an effective treatment for a wide range of medical problems, including pain and nausea relief due to surgery, nausea from chemotherapy, pain from dental procedures, osteoarthritis and tendonitis.
