The Vanderbilt Comprehensive Hypertension Center offers one-day service for assessement and evaluation of adults with hypertension (high blood pressure).
This includes diagnosis and treatment of difficult-to-control hypertension as well as ambulatory blood pressure monitoring to rule out "white coat hypertension" (when nervousness about being in the doctor's office makes blood pressure go up).
We also evaluate rare causes of high blood pressure such as:
Renal artery stenosis
We also teach patients about lifestyle changes to lower blood pressure and proper techniques for home blood pressure measurement.
The Vanderbilt Hypertension Clinic has served patients for more than 50 years. The clinic was the first in the Southeast to be designated by the American Society of Hypertension as a Comprehensive Hypertension Center.
