Adams-Stokes Disease
Adams-Stokes Disease is caused by a heart rhythm disorder, and is not a long-term disease. It is a short lived disease that involves fainting, sometimes with convulsions. With Adams-Stokes Disease the heart rate is slowed by a "heart block" that is caused by an electrical signal that passes from the heart's upper to lower chambers being interrupted. This decrease in heart rate causes inadequate blood flow to the brain and fainting.
