Vanderbilt Heart is growing rapidly. Because we have a reputation for leading innovation, we are able to recruit some of the most highly qualified cardiologists and cardiac surgeons in the country. By recruiting the brightest physicians and nurses, we are able to match our research and academic expertise with outstanding clinical experience. In addition, Vanderbilt Heart is leading the way in new treatment options and techniques such as minimally invasive heart surgery and the sighted OR (image guided surgery).

US News and World Report
Vanderbilt University Medical Center's status among the nation's elite health care providers is growing, according to U.S. News & World Report's newly released ranking of “America's Best Hospitals.”
This year, VUMC had nine specialty programs ranked among the top 50 of their respective fields, up from seven last year. No other Tennessee hospital made the list in any category. Only 173 of 5,462 hospitals screened nationwide were ranked among the 16 specialty categories designated by the magazine.
For the second year in a row, Vanderbilt's program in Heart and Heart Surgery was recognized, ranking 17th in the nation. Vanderbilt's was the only heart program in the state to make the list.
