What is tobacco?

Tobacco is by definition "dried leaves" processed for smoking. It is the dried leaves of a plant of the nightshade family, processed primarily for smoking in cigarettes, cigars, and pipes. It is also the primary ingredient in the manufacture of smokeless tobacco.
