Vanderbilt Dayani Center Sports Performance Evaluations

The Dayani Center Exercise Physiology Lab allows us the opportunity to provide high quality exercise testing.  We offer testing to athletes of all abilities and experience from the new recreational exerciser to the experienced triathlete. Physiological testing provides one with the following opportunities:

  • Development and evaluation of a training program
  • Improving self-motivation
  • Accountability to exercise
  • Awareness of potential strengths and weaknesses

There are many variables that make up a successful performance on any level. During your testing we can evaluate:

  • VO2 Max - The highest rate of oxygen once can consume during maximal exercise.
  • Lactate Threshold - The level to which the exercise demand is at a point to which lactic acid begins to accumulate.
  • Body Composition - Body fat is measured using either a 7-site skinfolds or underwater weighing.

As a result of testing, each participant will be given personal feedback from an exercise physiologist and materials that will outline:

  • Appropriate heart rate zones and % VO2 Max
  • Results and definitions of all testing variables and outcomes
  • Descriptions of how these results apply to one's training and exercise
  • A comparison to your peers

Getting the most out of your workouts requires planning and evaluation. Visit the Vanderbilt Dayani Sports Performance Center and take your fitness to the next level.
